B-34 | Coarctation Angioplasty in Young Children: Does IMPACT Registry Data Accurately Reflect Clinical Outcomes?
نویسندگان
چکیده
BackgroundBalloon angioplasty for recoarctation of the aorta is routinely performed in young children. Angioplasty considered successful when systolic gradient reduced to <20 mmHg. The IMPACT Registry intended stratify institutions based on outcomes and make that data available public. defines acute procedural success solely a final <10 mmHg.MethodsBetween February 2012 December 2020, was 110 coarctation interventions. Electronic medical records were reviewed, primary endpoints one following: 1) analysis end date (June 2021), 2) patient death, or 3) most recent transcatheter surgical reintervention.Results64 (58.2%) interventions had post-procedure CA mmHg, while 96 (87.3%) gradients Comparison clinical outcome with previously published criteria demonstrated no significant relationship using (p = 0.70) 0.88). There difference between failure for: pre- post-treatment gradients; absolute percent change gradient; pre-treatment diameter. Clinical age did show 0.0093) better older patients.ConclusionsThe metric treatment does not predict actual at our institution. These findings underscore need identify other metrics following balloon treatment.DisclosuresM. H. Hoyer: Abbott: Physician Proctor; W.L. Gore Associates, Inc.: A. P. Desai Nothing disclose. Does radial artery pressure accurately reflect aortic pressure?
STUDY OBJECTIVE Our objective was to determine whether the systolic, diastolic, and mean arterial pressures measured in the radial artery accurately reflect corresponding pressures in the ascending aorta in narcotic-anesthetized patients with known obstructive coronary artery disease, before being subjected to cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). DESIGN This was a prospective study. SETTING The ca...
متن کاملBalloon angioplasty of native coarctation: clinical outcomes and predictors of success.
OBJECTIVES We sought to investigate the clinical impact of balloon angioplasty for native coarctation of the aorta (CoA) and determine predictors of outcome. BACKGROUND Balloon dilation of native CoA remains controversial and more information on its long-term impact is required. METHODS Hemodynamic, angiographic and follow-up data on 69 children who underwent balloon angioplasty of native C...
متن کاملBalloon Angioplasty for Aortic Coarctation
ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to evaluate the use of endovascular intervention in managing native and recurrent aortic coarctation in adult patients. MethodsBalloon angioplasty was undertaken transfemorally in 16 patients (mean age 18.3 ± 4 years old) with arterial hypertension in 12 native and 4 recurrent aortic coarctations. Systolic pressure gradient measurements were taken peri-interve...
متن کاملData quality audit of the arthroplasty clinical outcomes registry NSW
BACKGROUND The Arthroplasty Clinical Outcomes Registry NSW (ACORN) was initiated in 2012. ACORN is a registry piloting within NSW, Australia with several participating hospitals; it aims to monitor patient-centred outcomes and post-surgical complications after total hip and knee arthroplasty. Using retrospective audit methodology, we aimed to investigate the completeness and accuracy of data in...
